Drinking

Everytime my mom would take a drink
The farther down my heart would sink
She didn't realize what she would do
Or even the pain she put me through
All those nights of drowning in alcohol
Were times my head went through a wall
Asking her to stop was impossible it seemed
She would never listen to my cries and screams
I hoped that she would drink herself to death
I'd sometimes mutter it under my breath
Her drinking seems to make her go insane
She'd take it out on me like I was to blame
I knew in time that she had a disease
Something that can't be cured by vaccine
It's so hard to stand by and watch her drown
But soon enough she will hit the ground
You can't force a drunk to do anything
Unless they are ready and they're willing
That's when she can start living her life solid
When she finally admits to being an alcoholic
